MALOSSI 318398 CYLINDER MHR Ø 47.7 IN ALUMINIUM 

The cylinder, a fundamental component of an engine, is made with a special aluminum alloy with a high percentage of silicon and titanium, which guarantees high non-deformability at high temperatures. Machining by chip removal takes place on numerically controlled machining centres, with extremely tight dimensional and shape tolerances. Furthermore, the internal surface of the cylinder is treated with a silicon carbide coating on a nickel matrix, which guarantees extremely high hardness and considerable resistance to wear.

The piston, another essential component of the engine, is also made with a special alloy with a very high percentage of silicon, in order to guarantee very high resistance to heat and non-deformability as temperatures vary. Its structure is reinforced to withstand the stresses imposed on a cylinder kit for competition at the highest level, but at the same time retains a remarkable lightness, in order to reduce the forces of inertia. Furthermore, it is externally coated with tin to ensure a very low coefficient of friction.

The segments, on the other hand, are made of high mechanical resistance nodular cast iron, with a ground and lapped hard wear resistant chrome coating on the contact surface.

The motor head is made with a special aluminum alloy with a high heat exchange coefficient, with the geometry of the heat exchange surfaces recalculated and increased. Additionally, the combustion chamber is completely redesigned for a high compression ratio with very high turbulence. All processing takes place on numerically controlled machines, to ensure extreme precision.
