STM slipper clutch technology operates during deceleration, when the engine generates negative torque and engine braking can cause instability and rear-wheel hopping. The system manages this phase to help maintain greater stability, especially during aggressive braking and rapid downshifts.

The mechanism operates only during braking and deceleration, when negative engine torque is transferred toward the rear wheel. The clutch modulates this condition to help reduce wheel hop, loss of grip, and harsh drivetrain reactions.
